Building the future
There’s never been a better time to get behind this theme. So many trade sectors are facing skills shortages that threaten to impact future industry. In the automotive sector, the IMI predicts that by 2030 there could be a shortfall of 35,700 qualified technicians needed to work on electric vehicles. While in construction, a study by industry training body CITB predicts the sector will need 217,000 new workers by 2025. This equates to over 50,000 new construction workers per year – there are currently only 30,000 per year.
One thing is clear, the demand for skilled professionals has never been higher. And we believe that Draper Tools has a part to play in supporting those who choose apprenticeship, whether they’re young students or those that retrain later in their careers.
