Draper Tools gives back this Christmas

Christmas is a time for giving back and here at Draper Tools, we have certainly taken that to heart this year, supporting both local and global causes this festive season through a range of charitable activities.

Team toy collection

The month of December kicked off with the Draper team donating toys for The Cash for Kids Mission Christmas appeal, which is the biggest toy appeal in the UK and ensures that children who would have nothing at all to open on Christmas morning receive presents to enjoy. Here in the South, where Cash for Kids supports families facing financial hardship, the appeal is set to make a real difference to local families in need. This year there has been 22,000 applications made to the charity from across the region to help make sure children and young people in the local area receive Christmas gifts. Draper Tools has been a long term supporter of Mission Christmas, with colleagues collecting toys and gifts for the appeal every year since 2014.

Food bank collection

Alongside the toys, our head office team also collected a range of food items to donate to the Southampton City Mission Food Bank. Over 100 canned food items were donated as well as other essentials including pasta and cereals, plus a variety of festive treats to help support local families in need.

Fundraisers for Save The Children

Team Draper’s Christmas charitable efforts didn’t end there, on the 7th December we took part in Christmas Jumper Day, donning festive knitwear and baking Christmas treats to raise funds for Save the Children. Further funds for Save the Children were raised through a Southampton Football Club themed raffle, which raised £500 for the charity.

Matt Sheen, CEO at Draper Tools said:
“As a family business, supporting our community is very important to us and everyone here was keen to give back this Christmas. Seeing the collections of both food and toys growing each day at head office was something we all felt proud to be a part of.

“Equally we all recognise the vital work of Save the Children and were keen to ensure that our festive fun helped raise money for this incredible charity. The team gave generously and it certainly brought a good deal of festive cheer to the office. I’d like to say a huge thank you to all who took part and to all the charities who do so much at this time of year.”

Draper Tools regularly supports good causes both locally and nationally including Tools for Self Reliance, Trinity Winchester and Saints Foundation, find out more at www.drapertools.com/charities.
