Music, sunshine and muddy boots – festivals are finally back after the two years of cancellations due to the pandemic.
So, we thought we’d bring you some handy tips for ideas to make this year’s experience even more fantastic.
Getting there and setting up
If you’re tight on space in the car, we’ve a range of tow ropes and tow bars that will help.
And some of our most popular items at this time of year are our wheeled carts, with loads of customers returning to tell us that they’re absolutely perfect for lugging around camping gear, particularly when having to navigate long walks.
A gazebo can also make the difference between having a great time and stoic braving of the elements. Cover from the rain, protection from the sun – whatever the days throw at you, you’ll have shelter and your own space for that little bit of time away from the crowds.
For setting up, cable ties are a useful addition to the packing list.
Once you’re set up – enjoy!
Our pocket multi-tools can be a real help when setting up, but they’re useful to keep handy throughout the festival. From bottle and can opener to knife and file – who knows what little tasks will need doing.
One of the most important pieces of advice for festival goers is to stay hydrated. Bottled water purchased on-site can be expensive. But most festivals will have hydration stations and so taking along a water container is a must. For the campsite choose one with a tap and easy flow feature to avoid spillage and making pouring as easy as possible.
Wipes are another essential item to take for those everyday cleaning tasks – even if the site does stay mud-free… And a torch is a must-have, whether a traditional hand-held type, or on a headband or full hat.
Finally, if you’re taking a camper van, a generator can be useful, and you can find tips on what to look for when buying a generator in our guide to Choosing the Right Generator.
Camping and glamping
Whether camping or glamping, and whether at a festival, in the countryside, by the sea or in your back garden, having the right equipment can make or break your break.
Plus, of course, no packing list for a summer holiday in the UK would be complete without ‘sunscreen’ and ‘umbrella’ – or ‘wellies’.
